Lip Salve Addiction

I have an addiction to lip saIMG_4651lves. I carry them everywhere, in every pocket, every bag, even in my car. I have had monogamous love affairs with different brands over the years. Here are my top 5:

For the organic woman, Dr Hauschka’s lip care stick. Not too shiny, this orange stick just heightens your natural lip colour (better in the stick than in the pot). For the woman who wants to have moisture and cosmetic care at the same time, Dermalogica – renewal lip complex.

I started using Carmex lip balm in my teens and recently rediscovered this little gem. It slightly tingles upon application and is addictively re-applicable, but the taste might not be to everyone’s liking.

While I used Murad’s lip protector which has an SPF of 15, is the most glossy, and has a hint of pink, it is currently out of stock. A good alternative is Murad’s soothing skin and lip care

Finally, Smith’s Rosebud Salve, which as well as applying to my lips, I put on my cuticles if they are especially dry. The texture is like Vaseline, it gives good moisture, but needs to be reapplied often.

I too have an addiction to lip salves.
One that I particularly like is Maybelline Baby Lips. I only bought the very first one out of desperation when it was the only lip salve in the store. The tube and writing on it isn’t sophisticated at all and that’s what put me off. Garish orange and green with big writing on.
Well……don’t judge a book by its cover. Maybelline Baby Lip salves are terrific. Fruity, really moisturising and leaves a lovely rosy pink and even a redish colour on your lips. Looks like you’ve gone for the natural look make up wise.

Really recommend this product and they retail at around £2-£3 in high street stores such as Boots and Superdrug.
